Construction to begin soon on new San Joaquin County Courthouse
The first notices are up in downtown Stockton - signaling the start of construction on San Joaquin County's new $272 million, 13-story courthouse, scheduled to open in mid-2016.
The new building wil replace the exisitng courthouse which is operating at maximum capacity.
The new courthouse, which will be built to LEED standards, will feature 30 courtrooms, upgraded security features and a comfortable jury waiting room.
When completed, it wil be Stockton's tallest building.
