Employers are looking for people with that certain variable (talent or quality) about them which could have a significant impact on their department’s/company’s success. Another name for your X factor is your Personal Brand. It is what makes you uniquely desirable as a potential employee.

Sierra Health Foundation Awards $25,000 to Mommy & Me

On October 12, 2011, the Mommy & Me Program of Hilliard Chapel received a $25,000 grant from Sierra Health Foundation through its Responsive Grants Program.  The grant was one of 28 awarded by the Sacramento-based private philanthropy, which promotes improved health and quality of life for the people of Northern California.

'Visions in Clay' Exhibition and Awards set for Aug. 18 - Sept. 15

STOCKTON - Delta College's L.H. Horton Jr. Gallery presents the sixth annual “Visions in Clay” Exhibition and Awards Competition, Aug. 18 - Sept. 15. The opening reception will take place at the Horton Gallery on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 5 - 7 p.m.  All events are free and open to the public.

“Visions in Clay” features 67 ceramic works by 67 artists from around the country, including four from Stockton: Joel Blum, Bruce Cadman, Shiloh Gastello and Bruce Smallwood. Delta College is proud to report that all four local artists are former or current Delta College students. They studied ceramics under Delta art instructor, Joe Mariscal.

“‘Visions in Clay’ is the largest exhibition of ceramic works in the San Joaquin Valley,” says Horton Gallery director, Jan Marlese. “This is an exceptional show in terms of craftsmanship and diversity of exhibited works.

Matt O'Dette named Bakersfield head coach

Matt O'Dette named Bakersfield head coach

STOCKTON - The Stockton Thunder announced Matt O’Dette, who served as an assistant coach for the Thunder for the past two seasons (2009-11), has been named head coach of the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.

"Matt's contributions to the Thunder over the past few years have been very integral in our success and we wish him nothing but the best in his new career as a head coach in professional hockey," said Thunder President Dan Chapman. 

O’Dette, 35, succeeds Marty Raymond by earning the first head coaching position in his career after spending three seasons with the Thunder – the final two in an assistant coach role to Thunder head coach Matt Thomas.
