New Charter Academy Opens on Humphreys College Campus

The Academy of Business, Law and Education (ABLE) opened its doors this week on the Humphreys College Campus near Lincoln Center in Stockton.  ABLE is an innovative charter school program offered through a K-16 education partnership between Delta Charter Schools and Humphreys College.  Delta Charter School is authorized in partnership with New Jerusalem School District.  Delta Charter offers University of California approved A-G coursework and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  New Jerusalem has been serving children in San Joaquin County for over 135 years with innovative and unique programming designed to meet diverse learning needs of the students. Humphreys College has served the community for over 115 years offering an opportunity for students to realize a four year college degree in a variety of fields with flexible and creative programs that accommodate the demands of family and work while improving student’s knowledge and abilities in a competitive work environment.  These education leaders have joined forces to expand services and educational programming to a larger audience through the Academy of Business, Law and Education.

Students enrolled in ABLE benefit from internships with local businesses, a technology-infused curriculum, college level coursework on the Humphreys campus, and an expectation of excellence that will ensure the future success of every ABLE graduate.

ABLE concentrates on career pathways in business, law and education. Student will have the opportunity to select one of the career pathways upon their acceptance into the Academy. ABLE’s career pathways will integrate with Humphreys College programs further enhancing the educational experience of the students.

Students gain real world understandings of various college-career pathways and how they can apply their knowledge and interests to a successful career in their chosen field.

The Academy curriculum also gives students a chance to interact in a collegial exchange of information with faculty and their fellow students and share their understanding and future career aspirations.

The Delta Charter School/Humphreys College Academy of Business, Law and Education will continue to enroll students until it has reached its maximum capacity of 300 students.  Parents and students of the Greater Stockton area are encouraged to contact the ABLE offices by phone (209-235-2950) or by contacting the Delta Charter School Office by phone (209-830-6363).
